Yep, I've 'gotta thing' for cushions.
It's an inexplicable, fiendishly ingrained, mysterious fascination that's been with me for 20 years or more. If I could have a wardrobe just for cushions, I would.
And why not?
Cushions are like great outfits.... they can change a room's look in seconds, just like a great outfit can completely transform you when you put it on.
If I had a wardbrobe for cushions, I could change the way my rooms looked at the drop of a hat.
Bliss!
I'm always on the hunt for gorgeous cushions, but, living in a regional city, (even though it's a large one), I lament our noticeable lack of true 'designer cushions' made from exceptional materials with an edge of 'something different' about them.
In 2009 I started my interior design blog as a way of getting my philosophical design ideas into the world, (I believe interiors have a big role to play in our emotional and spiritual development), and it occured to me that I could also indulge my passion for superstar cushions by sourcing outstanding ones and offering them for sale!
Thus, Heartfire At Home's Blog Shop was born!
One of my favourite quotes is the following one by Joseph Campbell. It may seem weird to attach such a meaningful quote to something like cushions, but your bliss is where you find it, and I find mine in the area of interior design and cushions!

.... and by opening this shop, I've continued to do just that!
It brings me joy to spend time scouring cushion makers for something that catches my eye and makes me smile, and if it makes me a little extra money, that's icing on the cake!
Heartfire At Home's Blog Shop will remain a small yet gorgeous boutique store, selling a limited number of cushions handpicked by me because they catch my fancy, and I think they just might catch yours!
The cushions are made by individual and talented cushionistas who invest just as much passion into making their cushions as I do in enjoying them.
